About Us

Sword and Crown Studios is a private studio based out of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.  It is the private studio of David Seguyn and Angela Croteau.  David and Angela originally met when Angela reached out to David to enquire about getting some portrait work sleeve tattoos.  During the tattoo process, David and Angela built up a friendship and eventually their relationship became a romantic one.

David was originally a tattoo artist who had worked at Sink the Ink Tattoo Company(originally in Maple Ridge, then later moved to Port Coquitlam), and eventually became owner in 2019, when Bryn and Grant Wyllychuk gifted him their shop(for which he is forever grateful!).  

In 2022, after approximately 15 years of being open, Sink the Ink Tattoo Company closed its doors forever.

Angela suggested to Dave that they open up a private studio so that they can pursue their own artistic endeavors in a more private and intimate fashion.  After finding the perfect location they opened up their doors in May of 2022, and they are loving working together and creating art for their clients and themselves.

Dave is a tattoo artist, painter, illustrator, and 'part-time' sculptor(examples of his sculptures will be posted...one day).  He has been tattooing for almost 20 years, and has been an artist his entire life.  His preferred tattoo styles are illustrative Japanese, realism and neo-traditional. 

He is open to taking on commissions for paintings and illustrations and can work in both digital and traditional mediums. 

Angela handles all administrative duties, emails, and customer service for Sword and Crown Studios.  She has an invested interest in tattooing and art and enjoys singing and making music.

We are beyond happy to welcome you to our private studio.  It is a labour of love between two people who love each other very much and we know that you will love the vibe in our space.  Thank you, everyone!
